Premiere of song called “Millions of Lives” and dedicated to Armenian Genocide (video)
The premiere of the music video for the song “Millions of Lives”, which is dedicated to the Centennial of the Armenian Genocide, was held today at Moscow Cinema in Yerevan, armradio.am reports. Among those attending the premiere were Armenian MPs and government officials, as well as representatives of cultural, political and non-governmental organizations. RA First Lady Rita Sargsyan was also attending the event. What makes the music video for the song unique is that international celebrities convey their feelings about the genocide to the people through song.
“The music video for the song “Millions of Lives” presents a unique conversation between a grandfather and his great-granddaughter during which the grandfather recalls the sufferings that his family underwent. It’s not by chance that the role of the grandfather is played by great and devoted benefactor Hrair Hovnanian, whose family’s story symbolizes the tragic fate of the families of millions of Armenians. The eyes that follow the main characters in the music video actually the eyes of Hrair Hovnanian’s late mother, and they help present the script for the music video,” director of the project Tigran Petrosyan mentioned.
It is noteworthy that the heroes weren’t selected by chance either. The video stars people of different ages, with different professions, of different national belonging, as well as famous and not so famous people. All the stars participated voluntarily and at their own initiative. World famous stars such as Omar Sharif and Claudia Cardinale also expressed the desire to appear in the video. The video includes parts from the film “Mother”.
The music video for the song “Millions of Lives” also features Charles Aznavour, Montserrat Caballé, Patrick Fiori, Armen Jigarkhanyan, Vladimir Spivakov, Dmitry Kharatyan and other stars.
The lyrics of the song are by American poet Frida May, and the music is by Karen Margaryan.
