In modern world the mass media creates all the notions, on which is based every member of society, and the evens reach to the importance due to their illumination.

“Barekamutyun” (Friendship) NGO, giving  importance to the mass media, with the cooperation of FYCA within the framework  of EU «Youth in Action» program implements «Youth with media wings» training course in which participate 30 young representatives of  NGOs from Italy, Poland, Portugal, Armenia, Romania, Belarus, Georgia and Ukraine.

 «Youth with media wings» program’s goal is to identify the real values ​​of the EU and the partner countries, to raise awareness about discrimination and xenophobia, to discuss the stereotypes that are formed in society. During the program the participants had the opportunity to meet with the best foreign and Armenian experts in order to discuss their vision of life. They also visited the historical and cultural places in Armenia and became acquainted with history and traditions of ancient Armenia.

Astghik Avetisyan, the lecturer of the faculty of journalism of YSU, the chairman of the scientific-informational NGO “Armenian PR association”, introduced the features, importance and the main principals of Mass media to the participants. She shared with her practical skills due to non-formal education and emphasized the role of media in social life.

The participants shooted four videos, directing a unique message to the society about xenophobia, discrimination, the  stereotypes that are formed in  society  and about their desire to use media for their benefit, implementing the journalistic skills, they had gained during the program.
