Mass served at Saint Kirakos Armenian Church of Diyarbekir

A mass was served at the Saint Kirakos Armenian Church located in the Suri region of Diyarbekir (historic Aghdznik) with the participation of several guests from different regions of Turkey and other countries.
The Turkish Star Gundem news portal reports that New York-based journalist for The Wall Street Journal Avedis Hadidjian, who is from Diyarbekir, also participated in the mass.
Among other participants were famous master of the udi in Diyarbekir Yervand Bostanjn, Bedri Ayseli, spiritual pastor of the St. Mary Church Yusuf Akbuluo and others.
The Saint Kirakos Armenian Church of Diyarbekir is the largest Armenian church in the Near East. It was renovated in 2011, and several masses have been served at the church since then.
In 2013, Kurdish Mayor of Diyarbekir Osman Baydemir and the leaders of the Saint Kirakos Armenian Church’s foundation agreed on using a part of the church as a museum that will showcase samples presenting the history of the Armenians of Diyarbekir.
