Mashtots Armenian Sunday School of Estonia’s Tartu celebrated International Mother Language Day

On February 18, Mashtots Armenian Sunday School of the Estonian city of Tartu hosted an event dedicated to International Mother Language Day, reported the School’s Principal Janna Shahbazyan to Hayern Aysor.
The junior members of the School’s Tayk Club recited the letters of the Armenian alphabet and sang new songs that Ruzanna Hambardzumyan had taught them.
Afterwards, they recited poems and performed Armenian folk dances taught by Gohar Hovakimyan. Tayk Club also performed new dances, and at the initiative of Janna Shahbazyan, all the attendees participated in trivia games.
The event became more musical and interesting thanks to sound engineer Armen Shahbazyan. During the event, Vachagan Khachatryan introduced the children to the history of Armenian kings and their activities, and the children made crowns with Armenian ornaments.
