Armenia’s team won third place and scored a bronze medal at the FIRST Global Grand Challenge international robot construction Olympiad held in Washington DC.
The Olympiad had gathered teams from 163 countries, and Armenia was represented by the students of TUMO Center for Creative Technologies.
This year, the participants’ task was to design a robot that can solve several engineering problems with “having access to clean water” and be able to collaborate with international robot alliances, writes Armenpress.
Armenia’s participants only lost to the European team and the team from Poland. The members of the Armenian team are 14-18-year-old students of TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, including Levon Balagyozyan, Maria Ter-Minasyan, Davit Hovhannisyan, Tigran Kirakosyan, Aram Madantsyan, Lilit and Ashot Tarumyan and their supervisor, host of the robot construction course at TUMO Haik Voskanyan.
