6 arrested over Dink murder

New developments have unfolded in the case of the murder of founding editor-in-chief of Agos Weekly, Istanbul-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Istanbul has taken a decision to apprehend eight people through the investigation of Dink’s murder, reported Turkiyegazetesi.

Prosecutor of the Department for the Fight against Terrorism and Organized Crime of the Prosecutor’s Office Gyokalp Kyokcu has decided to apprehend those who are suspected of disseminating the photos and videos taken and produced at the detention facility following the apprehension of Dink’s assassin Ogyun Samast via media outlets in 2007 and in 2016. In the photos, Samast is holding the Turkish national flag with the words of Ataturk on it.

It is stated that there are currently six arrestees, including journalist Muhammer Ay, Mourad Bairak, Yuksel Avan, Birol Ustanoglu, Yakup Kurtaran and Ahmet Cetiner. The other two are under search, writes ermenihaber.am.
