The Armenian woman behind the News Deeply media empire
Mashable presents the life and career of 33-year-old Lara Sedrakyan, who is creating a media empire and is ready to revolutionize the field of media.
Three years ago, she co-founded News Deeply, which is focused on perceiving headlines deeply and objectively.
With its stern reports and modern design, the award-winning News Deeply is an innovative media platform with the goal to present the difficult world to its readers in a simpler way.
The website, which has been focused on the Syrian issue since 2012, has become the main resource and source of information about the ongoing conflict.
Lara’s team has launched the Refugees Deeply Project, which is one of the most pretentious media projects with the focus on the global impact of the refugee crisis in the whole Near East and Europe.
The website is currently expanding at a rapid pace. The number of employees is on the rise, and venture funding has reached $2.5 million.
News Deeply is a non-profit organization that believes its mission is to have a positive impact on the world.
The website features several major sections, including Syria, Arctic, Water, Refugees, Women and Ladies. The team works very hard, and when a problem is more or less solved, it removes the given section. For instance, the team removed the Ebola Deeply section in 2016 only after it stopped spreading in Guinea.
“When talking to Sedrakyan, it is hard to believe that she isn’t afraid of anything at all. She has already covered events such as the Arab Spring,” writes the website, reports Ankakh.com.
Lara Sedrakyan’s parents moved to the United States from Armenia. She studied at the University of Harvard and moved to Beirut where she started pursuing her career. Lara knows six languages, including Armenian.
