The results of the online contest for best touristic location declared by the Russian version of the National Geographic Traveler magazine have been summed up. As the PR Office of the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia told ArmenPress, Armenia has won in the Discovery of the Year category.

 This goes to show the several actions carried out by the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia for the promotion of tourism in Armenia, and it is especially important from the angle of raising the level of cognition of Armenia’s historical, cultural, national and spiritual heritage in the Russian market and the increase in the flow of incoming tourists.

In April 2013, Armenia hosted the editors of National Geographic Россия, who paid a cognitive visit at the invitation of the NCFA. During the visit, National Geographic Россия and National Geographic Traveler magazines published articles devoted to Armenia, and photos of Armenia were posted at Nat-Geo.ru.
