First “Armenia. Create Together” youth forum continued at the RA MFA Diplomatic School

On July 11, within the scope of the “Armenia. Create Together” youth forum for students and graduates of the top universities of the world, the RA Ministry of Diaspora, in association with the Armenian General Benevolent Union, the Luys Foundation and the Ayb Foundation, launched the first panel session of the “Protection of Armenian Interests and the Media” working group devoted to “The Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict Before and After the Four-Day War in April” at the Diplomatic School of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The session was moderated by Director of the Diplomatic School of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vahe Gabrielian.

Gabrielian briefly presented the activities of the Diplomatic School, attached importance to youth forum being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Diaspora and stressed the fact that the forum was aimed at consolidating the potential of young Armenians around the world.

Assistant to the President of the Republic of Armenia Varujan Nersisyan touched upon the foundation, developments and perspectives of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Expressing gratitude to the organizers for such an initiative, Varujan Nersisyan presented the legal, political and historical aspects of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the current processes and perspectives in detail.

Deputy of the RA National Assembly Tevan Poghosyan delivered a speech entitled “Parliamentary Diplomacy and the Protection of Armenian Interests in the Context of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict”.

Poghosyan touched upon the process of negotiations over the Artsakh issue, the mechanisms for the solution to the issue and the role of parliamentary diplomacy. Talking about national interests, the parliamentarian attached importance to the need for presenting them effectively within parliamentary committees.

In his speech entitled “The Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict and Regional Security”, political scientist, regional security expert Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan touched upon the conflicts in the South Caucasus, attaching importance to the role of Armenia in the context of regional security and the role that external factors can play.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Armine Alexanyan delivered a speech entitled “The Position of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic”.

The session was followed by an active and constructive discussion and exchange of views.

In the evening, the participants of the forum attended the concert of the State Dance Ensemble of Armenia at Alexander Spendiaryan National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet.
