Shnorhali four-part choir gives concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s independence
On March 13, the Shnorhali four-part choir gave a concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Armenia at the “Srbazan Khorhurd” (Holy Symbol) Church of New York, reports the choir’s artistic director and choirmaster, opera singer Vagharshak Ohanyan to Hayern Aysor from New York.
The choir performed the songs of classic and contemporary Armenian composers and sang new songs that received warm rounds of applause from the audience.
Among the special guests were Los Angeles-Armenian opera singer Anahit Nersisyan, the Aregak Children’s Choir of Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society in New Jersey and Diana Vasilyan’s Armstring Ensemble.
Among the attendees were leader of the U.S. Eastern Diocese, His Eminence, Father Archbishop Khazhak Parsamian, representatives of the Tekeyan Cultural Association in New York, Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society, the UN House and foreign artists.
