Tomorrow morning Armenians from around the world, irrespective of their political convictions, religious preferences or social and economic status will once again come together to jointly cast a vote of confidence in Armenia’s future. Over a quarter of a century, Armenia Fund’s Thanksgiving Day Telethons raised close to $300,000,000, which resulted in over 1,000 projects strengthening Armenia’s independent statehood and changing the lives of tens of thousands in Armenia and Artsakh for the better.

This year’s Telethon will raise funds to help Armenian parents raise the next generation of Armenia’s and Artsakh’s scientists, doctors, statesmen. With your generous support, we will construct houses for families in Artsakh who have 5 children or more but lack adequate housing. There is 466 families in Artsakh who have more than 5 children of which 211 are known to live in unacceptable housing conditions. Medical research has shown that overcrowding and inadequate living conditions result in slower growth in children and increase the risk of meningitis, tuberculosis, asthma and coronary heart disease.

The single family homes that Armenia Fund constructs will have land plots of 10,000 sq. ft. each, where the families can grow fruits and vegetables. Armenia Fund will provide furniture for every room in the house as well as provide household appliances, including central heating systems, water heaters, refrigerators, washers, stoves and vacuum cleaners.

According to the program, priority will be given to low income families, as well as the families of active duty officers of Artsakh’s armed forces, families of veterans of the Artsakh Liberation War and to the survivors of soldiers who lost their lives defending Artsakh.
