Torch of the 6th Pan-Armenian Summer Games is in Gegharkunik Province

Citizens of Vardenis of Gegharkunik Province welcomed the Torch brought from Artsakh with a grand celebration. This time, the honor of bringing the Torch to the city was the honor of two-time vice-champion of Armenia, wrestler Tigran Shaboyan. According to mayor Volodya Khloyan, the athletes of Vardenis will be competing in chess and arm-wrestling during the Pan-Armenian Summer Games.

 In addition to the mentioned sports, the athletes of the province will also participate in the table tennis and water polo play table tennis and water polo. “We’re not thinking about the medals, much less the colors of medals. We attach importance to the ideology of the Games, which is best emphasized in the slogan “Unity through Sports”,” says Governor of Gegharkunik Province Rafik Grigoryan. This Torch of the 6th Pan-Armenian Summer Games lit at the St. Ghazanchetsots Church of Shushi passed through the regions of Artsakh, will pass through all the provinces of Armenia until the start of the Games and will mark the launch of the 6th Pan-Armenian Summer Games on 2 August in Yerevan, which is the capital of all Armenians around the world. The next stop is the Berd city of Tavush Province.
