Seyran Ohanyan meets with Diaspora Armenian students

On July 16th, a group of Diaspora Armenian students participating in the AGBU Yerevan Summer Experience Program visited the RA Ministry of Defense. The goal of the program is to introduce the students to the Republic of Armenia, the history of the Armenian people, as well as the cultural heritage and the achievements made during the years of independence.

The 29 Armenian students from the United States, Lebanon, the United Kingdom and Australia had a meeting with RA Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan at the administrative complex of the RA Ministry of Defense. During the meeting, the minister presented the stages of formation of the Armenian army, the main objectives and challenges and details on the military cooperation between Armenia and other countries.

Seyran Ohanyan also answered the Diaspora Armenian students’ questions concerning the reforms taking place within the armed forces, military education and women’s role in the armed forces.
