“This is an Armenian flag”. Turks took out babies out of pregnant women’s wombs and impaled them

Khachik Vardanian’s testimony

1914, Sgherd

Khachik Vardanian who survived the Genocide tells that all the men from the village of Nabayin aged between 15 and 45 were conscripted. A man who escaped from the Turkish army told that officers discriminated Armenian soldiers. Armenians were kept hungry in a separate room. In June 1915, 200 Kurds attacked Nabayin, gathered everyone and killed them with axes, seeing no resistance. They sheared pregnant women’s wombs, took the babies out and impaling them shouted, “This is an Armenian flag.” Three men, one woman and a boy survived in the village of Nabayin.
