Turkey’s Kurdish presidential candidate meets with Armenian community

Anadolu news agency reports that Turkey’s Kurdish presidential candidate Selaheddin Demirtash had a meeting with representatives of the country’s Armenian, Assyrian, Greek and Jewish communities.

The Kurdish presidential candidate, co-chair of the People’s Democratic Party Selaheddin Demirtash mentioned that if Muslims can’t call the Jews “brothers”, then life will become more and more difficult in the country.

After the closed-door meeting, Demirtash told the presses that even though the representatives of the communities had different identities and religions, they shared their issues, including coexistence, freedom, democracy and fraternity.

“This was a very pleasant, helpful and instructive meeting for me,” Demirtash said.
