Charles Aznavour turns 90, the legend will celebrate his birthday in Germany

The best singer, composer, poet, actor of the 20th century, National Hero of Armenia, recipient of the Legion of Honor of France, living legend-this is not enough to reveal and present the world’s most famous Armenian, Charles Aznavour.
On May 22nd, the legendary French-Armenian singer turned 90.
“You will conquer the world because you are able to move people”-this Is what Charles de Gaulle had said to Aznavour on one occasion. France’s greatest political and military figure wasn’t wrong. Aznavour has truly been able to bring the world down to its knees.
However, the legendary singer has faced many obstacles on the road.
“The road hasn’t been easy. I’ve seen much bitterness on that road. I’ve seen doors slammed in front of me, smiles of irony and bad remarks,” says the living legend as he describes his past.
In spite of all that, the “Armenian with the shaky voice” has his firm and irreplaceable place in world music.
The legend won’t be celebrating his 90th birthday alone. On the evening of May 22nd, Aznavour will give a concert to celebrate his birthday in Berlin, after which he will visit Frankfurt on May 24th.
Aznavour will be giving concerts all year long. He has already given a special surprise for his fans with the release of a 32-disc album that has been on sale since April 28th. The album includes Aznavour’s songs composed between the years of 1948 and 2011.
In addition, Aznavour has already started his concert series and has performed in different parts of the world, but he also hasn’t forgotten his homeland.
On May 12th, the legendary singer gave a concert for the Armenian audience at Karen Demirchyan Sport-Concert Complex in Yerevan. Festive events will be held around the world.
Several musicians and notable individuals of different spheres will congratulate the legend on his 90th birthday.
Notable French-Armenian singer, composer, actor and public figure Charles Aznavour was born on May 22, 1924 in Paris. He is a composer and performer of several famous songs and has sold nearly 100,000,000 albums. Since 2009, Aznavour has been Armenia’s Ambassador to Switzerland, as well as Armenia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Headquarters in Geneva and to other international organizations.
