RA newly appointed Prime Minister visits Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin

On Apr. 14, at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians received newly appointed Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan.

During the meeting, His Holiness gave his blessing to and congratulated Abrahamyan on assuming the responsible office of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, wishing him success in his mission to provide a better life for Armenians in the Homeland.

The Catholicos of All Armenians touched upon the difficulties facing the country and people and voiced hope that the newly appointed Prime Minister would take advantage of his merit and experience to help the country make progress.

During the meeting, His Holiness also touched upon the Church-State relations and the existing pro-national cooperation between the Armenian Church and different state organizations. The Catholicos of All Armenians affirmed that the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, staying true to its mission, will continue to support the Armenian government in its pro-national initiatives and in the reinforcement of statehood.

In his turn, RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan affirmed that he is committed and determined to take the steps that are necessary to overcome the difficulties and meet the people’s expectations. The RA Prime Minister also affirmed that as always, he will continue to make efforts for further strengthening of the bondes between the Armenian Church and the Government of the Republic of Armenia.

Head of the Divan of the Mother See, Bishop Arshak Khachatryan also attended the meeting.
