“If Turkey doesn’t want to say the word ?genocide’, let it say another word”

The Turkish Hurriyet has touched upon world famous singer Charles Aznavour’s interview to the Italian Coriere dell Sera in which Aznavour talked about Armenian-Turkish relations.
Aznavour mentioned that he would like to see the border between Armenia and Turkey open. Touching upon his concert in Turkey, Aznavour said he receives many invitations, but declines since he wouldn’t like to become a part of different political games in the presence of closed borders.
Aznavour also mentioned that “if Armenia had Azerbaijan’s petrol resources, many issues would have been solved”.
The Turkish newspaper added that Aznavour is one of the active supporters of Turkey’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide and says “if Turkey doesn’t want to say the word ?genocide’, let it substitute the word with another one”.
