The year dedicated to Mansuryan began in Los Angeles

The year 2014 is the year of Tigran Mansuryan, and it began with a concert dedicated to the great composer of our times at Zipper Hall in Los Angeles. Armenians, non-Armenians, fans of Mansuryan and those who know his music were gathered at the hall and were excited to see the great composer in the audience. The concert included performances of his works that gave a picture of the unique composer who composes in different genres.

During the concert organized in association with Lark Musical Association as part of the “Dilijan” Chamber Music concert series, the performers presented the works that have been composed throughout the past 50 years, including early works such as the sonata written for the cello and piano, as well as the song To Latos, which was composed two years ago. These works were performed by “Dilijan” Chamber Orchestra and foreign musicians participating in the concert. The latter mentioned that it gives them pleasure to perform Mansuryan’s works and that there is a mystery behind each song. Let us mention that many people in the audience discovered a new and extraordinary Mansuryan since most of his fans were only familiar with his songs for film soundtracks, but his significant achievements and innovations in classical music haven’t always been presented to the public at large. Mansuryan’s music is intricate, and one must be attentive when listening to the performances of his music. It was nice that the people in the audience left with a feeling of satisfaction and with the hope to attend another concert.
