“Visit Yerevan-2800” photo exhibition to open in Glendale

From July 13 to 23, the Central Library and Art Center of Glendale (California) will host a photo exhibition dedicated to the 2,800th anniversary of Yerevan. The exhibition is the initiative of the Tourism Division at Yerevan Municipality.
Head of the Tourism Division at Yerevan Municipality Gevorg Orbelyan, who is currently in Glendale, told Armenpress that the exhibition will be held under the title “Visit Yerevan-2800” and will feature photos of the capital city of Armenia.
“The nearly 50 exhibited photos portray Yerevan of the late 19th century and early 20th century and Yerevan starting from the Soviet era and leading up to our days. The originals of the photos of Old Yerevan and Yerevan in the Soviet era are kept in the collections of the Museum of History of Yerevan and have been reprinted especially for this exhibition,” Gevorg Orbelyan said.
The official opening of the exhibition will be held on 13 July, but it has been open for visitors for the past two days. Gevorg Orbelyan noted that the exhibition has sparked great interest among members of the local Armenian community and representatives of other nationalities residing in Los Angeles.
“We have been receiving quite a lot of positive feedback from visitors. Many people are asking us where Yerevan is and what tourism in Yerevan has to offer. We expect that this exhibition will help raise the level of recognizability of and interest in Yerevan, and this will contribute to the growth of tourism,” Gevorg Orbelyan said.
Several guests will be attending the official opening of the exhibition.
