Recently, at the initiative of the Armenian National Committee of Moscow, the ceremonies hall of the Holy Glorification Armenian Apostolic Church hosted an event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia under the title “A Century of Armenian Statehood”.
Among the guests were cultural figures, as well as members of Armenian political and non-governmental organizations and representatives of the local Armenian community. The event featured a documentary film screening and a concert and began with opening remarks by Director of the Armenian National Committee of Moscow Nerses Nersisyan, after which Friar Harutyun Kirakosyan conveyed the blessing of Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Russia and New Nakhichevan, Bishop Yezras Nersisyan.
The documentary film presented the most heroic pages of the history of the Armenian people, how the Armenian people found the strength within them and managed to achieve heroic victories against the enemy exceeding the Armenians in number during the Battles of Sardarapat, Bash-Aparan and Gharakilisa, shaping the statehood that had been lost for six centuries and that continued with the establishment of the modern-day Republic of Armenia. The film screening was followed by a performance by Haiasa Armenian Ethnographic Dance Group and performances of Armenian national and revolutionary songs.
Earlier, depiararat.com had informed that the Armenian National Committee of Moscow was going to launch events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia in the Russian Federation.
