Australian-Armenian plant cultivation specialist Stepan Melkonian visits Artsakh

From June 6 to 14, Australian-Armenian plant cultivation, protection and development specialist, experienced agronomist and farmer Stepan Melkonian, who was on a visit to the Republic of Artsakh, visited the Askeran, Martakert, Martuni and Hadrut regions of the Republic of Artsakh along with Deputy Minister of Agriculture Vilen Avetisyan and conducted studies on the plants being grown in Artsakh in order to share his knowledge and experience with the local farmers and make new proposals for the fight against various plant diseases.
As reported the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Artsakh to Hayern Aysor, according to Melkonian, giving preference to organic resources to combat plant diseases is preferable over chemical resources since illiterate use of the latter can lead to negative and severe consequences for human health.
After summing up the results of the studies and research, Melkonian will present his proposals to Minister of Agriculture Zhirayr Mirzoyan and other representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture.
