Translation of book “The Gambler” about Kirk Kerkorian underway

The book “The Gambler”, which is devoted to Armenian American businessman, billionaire, benefactor, Executive Director of Tracinda Corporation and National Hero of Armenia Kirk Kerkorian, is being translated into Armenian. William Ch. Rampel is the author of the book that was released in the United States and has already become a bestseller. The Armenian version of the book will be published by Edit Print Publishing House, which obtained the exclusive right to translate and publish the book in Armenian. The book’s translator is Alina Mirzoyan, who is working intensively on the translation.
“After we learned that a book about Kirk Kerkorian, one of the great Armenians, has been released in the United States, we really wanted to translate it into Armenian and present it to our readers. We Armenians need to know the worthy sons and the heroes of our nation. Kirk Kerkorian was one of those exceptional sons of the Armenian nation. This book presents many facts and episodes that nobody knew about until now and that deserve to be known. This is a story about a lucky man and the special path that he took,” Marketing Director of Edit Print Publishing House Shavarsh Karapetyan stated.
The book “The Gambler: How Penniless Dropout Kirk Kerkorian Became the Greatest Deal Maker in Capitalist History” was released on January 23, 2018.
Rampel states that this is an inspiring, 98-year life story of Kirk Kerkorian, a boy who would run barefoot over the soft and fertile land of the San Joaquin Valley until his family’s financial crisis turned him into a city boy who was forced to fight to find his place on the dirty sidewalks of Los Angeles. He was a tough boy who would cry during funerals, a modest person who would secretly take pride in his achievements, a business genius who would ignore the MBA’s advisors, a daring pilot and movie magnate, a gambler in casinos and in Wall Street and a person who would place bets with a supernatural skill, minimum risks and on the most probable outcome.
In his book, Rampel states that Kirk was a very closed person. He would rarely give interviews, never spoke in public and placed his personal space above everything else. Most of his business advisors and partners are certain that even his isolation had to be kept post-mortem, but Rampel managed to write the book.
In fact, this is a documental book since all the citations and descriptive scenes are based on eyewitness accounts or previously published stories.
Let us mention that the Armenian version of the book will be available in June 2018.
