Ruben Galstanyan pays working visit to Canada, meets with Toronto-Armenians

As reported Hayern Aysor, from February 3 to 9, representative of the Armenian Army in Europe and of the Union of Volunteer Land Defenders in France Ruben Galstanyan was on a working visit to Toronto and was escorted by Advisor to the RA Minister of Diaspora in Canada Khoren Mardoyan and member of the Armenian community of Toronto and political figure Hagop Janbazian.

Ruben Galstyan had a meeting with representatives of the Armenian community of Toronto, the leaders and members of Armenian community organizations and the clergy of the inter-denominational churches of Toronto at the Armenian Center in Toronto.

On February 4, Ruben Galstanyan participated in the “Banquet of the Primate”, which was organized by the Women’s Council and held with the blessing of Primate of the Armenian Diocese of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, His Grace, Archbishop Babgen Charian. The banquet helped raise $25,000. Afterwards, Ruben Galstanyan visited community organizations and was introduced to the past and current activities of the Toronto Chapter of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund presented by the Chapter’s director and chairman Meguerditch Meguerditchian.

During a meeting with Chairwoman of the Medical Society of Ontario Ani Hasserjian, Ruben Galstanyan was introduced to the Society’s past activities, particularly the assistance provided to the Armenian army. The sides also touched upon future activities.

Ruben Galstanyan also had meetings with Canadian-Armenian businessmen and visited Rex Magnetics factory where the factory’s founding directors, Levon and Simon Hasserjian gave Galstanyan a tour of the factory. The Hasserjians introduced the guest to their activities and informed that they have helped Syrian-Armenians find jobs in Canada.

During his visit to Canada, Ruben Galstanyan met with benefactor of the high school of ARS Toronto and businessman Varujan Lapoyan and discussed Lapoyan’s future plans.
