“Our Sweet Armenian Language”-event dedicated to International Mother Language Day held in Russia’s Saratov

“Wherever Armenian songs are heard, the homeland is ��?alive’ there…” Ghevond Alishan
On February 18, the ceremonies hall of the Home of National Cultures in Saratov hosted an event featuring performances of Armenian songs in Armenian that were part of a literary-musical event entitled “Our Sweet Armenian Language” and devoted to the Armenian language. The event was organized by Kroonk Armenian Music Theater of the Studio for the Study of the Armenian Language, Literature, History of the Armenian People and Ethno-Cultural Values established by the Armenian community of Saratov.
As reported Nune Bareghamyan to Hayern Aysor, during the event, the participants recited the works of Vahagn Davtyan, Gevorg Emin, Silva Kaputikyan, Mushegh Ishkhan, Stepanos Nazaryan, Jivani, Khachik Dashtents, Paruyr Sevak, Hamo Sahyan, Nairi Zaryan, Hovhannes Tumanyan, Yeghishe Charents and Vahan Teryan devoted to the Armenian language to the sounds of the music of Komitas, Babajanyan, Chopin and Khachaturian on the piano.
The guests of honor, including Deputy Director of the Home of National Cultures of Saratov Marina Bokareva and Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Daniil Puchinyan, noted the importance and significance of the event, the way of presenting everlasting values of literature and the need to have command of the mother language.
The people in the audience were moved and charmed as they listened to beloved and familiar works because: “Armenian language is the home of an Armenian in four corners of the globe, in which an Armenian enters as a homeowner…” (Mushegh Ishkhan).
After the event, the participants swore to protect and preserve the mother language. “My sweet language! My mother language! I swear to protect and preserve you within me, in my heart and in my family. I swear! I swear to take you with me on my road in life and keep you at the peak as an inextinguishable fire that lights my path. I swear!
I swear to illuminate my present and future with you and transmit you to my generations. I swear!”
The main character of the event was Saint Mashtots, who led the Armenian people towards eternity by creating the Armenian alphabet.
The people in the audience, who will always be learning, expressed their gratitude to the eternal teacher for his immortal act with a standing ovation.
The participants of the event were gifted individuals, including Nelly, Mary and Sipan Mkhitaryan, Karen Shakaryan, Artur Grigoryan, Sofi Gasparyan, Rima Petrosyan, Albert Stepanyan, Andranik Chilingaryan, Tsovinar Grigoryan, Naira Srapionyan, Sveta Srapionyan and talented pianist Tigran Gasparyan.
The event was like a real gift to the Mother Language.
