Catholicos Karekin II to promulgate Holy Condac dedicated to First Republic of Armenia

On February 8, St. Vardanants Day, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II will promulgate a Holy Condac dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia.
The Mother See has set up a special committee that will plan, organize and coordinate the events to be held by ecclesiastical organizations.
The events will be launched by the Holy Condac of the Catholicos of All Armenians.
“The condac will contain important messages for our lives today, the lessons that we must learn from the short existence of the First Republic and the heroic Battles of May. It is with this symbol that the Holy Condac is scheduled to be promulgated on St. Vardanants’ Day (8 February). The symbols of this anniversary and holiday have one thing in common-they will show the unity and persistence of our nation to be free and have an independent state, as well as fight for preservation of the identity and the vision for the future,” Head of the Information System of the Mother See, Fr. Priest Vahram Melikyan told Mediamax.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the First Republic of Armenia, the structures of the Mother See (educational, academic and cultural institutions) will hold several events, including the exhibition of archival documents and materials entitled “The Holy Etchmiadzin during the Heroic Battles of May and during the years of the First Republic of Armenia”, the publication of studies and monographs devoted to that era and the release of two volumes of documents dating back to the period between 1914 and 1920.
