Pilgrimage for youth of Kiev

On 26 March, the youth organization of Odessa hosted members of Armenian youth organizations from the Ukrainian cities of Kherson, Vinnitsa and Kiev. Among the young people from Kiev were students who have traveled from Armenia to pursue their studies for a Master’s Degree at T. G. Shevchenko University, reported armchurch.info.

The pilgrimage was organized by the Armenian Diocese of Ukraine for the young people of Kiev and coincided with the Be a Guest Program organized by the youth organizations of the Union of Armenians of Ukraine. Pastor of the Holy Martyrs Chapel in Kiev, Fr. Priest Karapet Gharibyan and Head of the Armenian Youth Association of Ukraine Hovakim Harutyunyan voiced hope that this pilgrimage would become the first step for the creation of a youth organization in Kiev.

The young people participated in the Sunday Divine Liturgy served by Fr. Priest Abgar Gljyan at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Odessa. After the liturgy, Fr. Karapet delivered a sermon and explained the symbol of Judge’s Sunday.

The youth organization of Odessa had also organized a game for the guests.  According to the rules, the young Armenians from Yerevan won the What? Where? When? Intellectual game, after which they had the opportunity to tour Odessa and get acquainted with the local monuments and cultural buildings.
