Tyarndarach holiday celebrated at St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church in Akhaltskha

On February 13, an evening liturgy and a ceremony ahead of Tyarndarach holiday were celebrated by spiritual superintendent of Akhaltskha, Friar Hakob Sahakyan at the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church in Akhaltskha. After the ceremony, the Reverend and the Holy Father performed the blessing of newlyweds.
As reported akhaltskha.net, the Reverend and the Holy Father conveyed their welcoming and congratulatory remarks to the newlyweds, after which the godfather of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church for the year 2017, Hovhannes Grigoryan transmitted small gifts to the newlyweds.
After the church ceremony, the faithful, with the accompaniment of clergymen, gathered in the churchyard where they lit the traditional bonfire of Tyarndarach. The main celebrations of Tyarndarach continued around the lit bonfire.
