Arab investors intend to build wind farm in Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province

In March 2017, investors of the United Arab Emirates will submit their final calculations for the construction of a wind farm in Armenia’s Gegharkunik Province. As Governor of Gegharkunik Province Rafik Grigoryan told Radiolur, the investors have examined the power and direction of winds in the provinces for nearly two years, and during their last visit in December 2016, they promised to present the final results.

“They gave their consent. According to the initial plan, they will build a nearly 70 MW wind farm. They have also examined the area of Aghavnadzor and have agreed to build a wind farm there as well,” the governor said.

According to Rafik Grigoryan, there are also other areas of Gegharkunik Province that have sparked the interest of the investors dealing with the production of solar energy.
