Head of Armenian community of Saint Petersburg and Vadim Okrushko hosted at the RA Ministry of Diaspora

RA Deputy Minister of Diaspora Serzh Srapionyan and Advisor to the Minister Stepan Petrosyan received Head of the Armenian community of Saint Petersburg Karen Mkrtchyan and First Deputy Head of the State Committee on Inter-Ethnic Relations and Migration Policies Vadim Okrushko, who are in Yerevan to participate in the Days of Saint Petersburg in Armenia Program.
Cordially greeting the guests, Petrosyan attached importance to the initiative to organize the cultural events of the northern capital of Russia in Armenia, provided details about the main strategic directions for the Armenia-Diaspora partnership, the programs of the Ministry of Diaspora and the Ministry’s cooperation with pan-Armenian, Diaspora Armenian, international and non-governmental structures and organizations.
Deputy Minister Srapionyan praised the activities that the Armenian community of Saint Petersburg carries out for the preservation of the Armenian identity and the community’s active participation in the programs and projects of the Ministry.
Vadim Okrushko expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and talked about the activities of the State Committee on Inter-Ethnic Relations and Migration Policies, as well as the efforts that are being made to preserve the national identities and cultures of national minorities residing in Saint Petersburg and the future actions.
Okrushko expressed his admiration of the activities of the Ministry and stated that they would study the experience of the Ministry in detail and apply the elements that are in line with their policy.
Vadim Okrushko invited the employees of the Ministry to participate in the event devoted to national minorities to be held in Saint Petersburg.
