Germany’s Halle and Karlsruhe also celebrated the 25th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence

Events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia were held in the German cities of Halle and Karlsruhe, as reported the press service of the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Hayern Aysor.
On September 25, the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Germany, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the Saxony-Anhalt region of the Federal Republic of Germany, held a concert dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia.
The “Little Singers of Armenia” children’s choir performed psalms and the works of Armenian and foreign composers at the Mother Cathedral of Halle.
RA Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany Ashot Smbatyan and State Secretary for Culture of the Government of the region Gunar Schelenberger gave their welcoming speeches at the event.
On September 23, the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Armenia in Baden-Wurtemberg hosted a concert and official reception dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Armenia at the concert hall of the historic fortress of the German city of Karlsruhe. The 10th anniversary of the Honorary Consulate was also celebrated on the sidelines of the event.
RA Ambassador to Germany Ashot Smbatyan, RA Honorary Consul in Karlsruhe Gunter Pilarsky and Mayor of Karlsruhe Frank Mentrup gave their welcoming speeches.
Ambassador Smbatyan expressed gratitude to Honorary Consul Pilarsky for supporting the cooperation between Baden-Wurtemberg and Armenia in different sectors and for carrying out various programs and projects in Armenia throughout the ten years of his term in office.
The event featured performances of the works of Komitas, Hovunts, Harutyunyan and others by Tigran Hekekyan’s “Little Singers of Armenia” children’s choir and the orchestra of the local conservatory.
