New book devoted to old Armenian cities released in Turkey
The Istanbul-based Aras Armenian Publishing House has released a new Turkish-language book devoted to the historically Armenian cities in the territory of Western Armenia.
According to Tert.am, the cover and image of the book have already been posted on the official website of Aras Publishing House. The book can be ordered on the website or at the office of the publishing house.
The new book entitled “Bitlis and Mush”, compiled by Richard Hovannisian and translated by Zulal Kilic, presents the old Armenian names and the histories of Western Armenian cities located in the territory of modern-day Turkey, as well as how important those cities are for all Armenians around the world.
Besides Bitlis and Mush, there is also detailed information about the cities of Van, Tigranakert, Urfa, Sebastia, Erzerum, Kars and Ani, as well as several cities of Cilicia. The book also includes information about the Armenian populations of a number of old cities (Zmyurnia, Constantinople, Kesaria) located in the territory of Asia Minor.
