On 1 April Artsakh Republic’s President Bako Sahakyan signed a decree according to which serviceman of the NKR Defense Army’s N division Vladimir Melkonyan was posthumously awarded with the “For Service in Battle” medal for bravery shown during the defense of the Nagorno Karabagh Republic state border.

In one of the northern military units of the Defense Army, on April 1 at 12:20, soldier of the Defense Army Vladimir Melkonyan (b.1996), was fatally wounded by Azerbaijani fire, “Armenpress” was informed by the Press Service of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Ministry. Investigation is underway to determine the details of the incident. The Nagorno Karabakh Defense Ministry shares the grief of loss and expresses its support to the family, relatives and coservicemen of V.Melkonyan.
