Students of Chamlian School support the school of Pokr Vedi village

On March 21, as a result of the friendship obtained through a 12-year cooperation, 150 students of Chamlian School of Glendale, as well as their parents and teachers were hosted in the Pokr Vedi village of Armenia.
As reports “Armenpress”, the guests visited Khor Virap Monastery where they took part in a blessing ceremony. In the yard of the school of Pokr Vedi, the students didn’t break the tradition and organized a tree planting ceremony. Throughout the years, the students have been hosted in the village and have already planted 250 trees in the Friendship Garden. At the school, they were introduced to their peers and took part in an ethnographic concert organized at the local culture home.
“You are not our guests, but our children who have traveled from a foreign country to their home in the homeland,” Deputy Governor Ilyich Shadyan said as he welcomed the guests on behalf of himself and the governor, adding that the bridge of friendship established between Chamlian School and the Pokr Vedi village is fruitful and is expressed through reciprocal visits.
The school’s principal Artur Harutyunyan also welcomed the guests and stressed that thanks to the visits that have been made throughout the years, most of the students have made friends and have homes in Pokr Vedi where they can feel the air of the homeland up close. The guests also donated money to the school to take care of its current expenses.
