A powerful explosion took place at Sultanahmet, which is one of the central squares of Istanbul. As reports ermenihaber.am, the Turkish Sabah, Milliyet and other presses report that people were killed and injured during the bombing. Sultanahmet is considered the center for tourism in Istanbul.

Several police officers and ambulance trucks arrived at the scene of the incident. The sound of the explosion was so powerful that it was also heard in other districts of Istanbul, including Taksim, Sirkeji, Chaghlayan, Beshiktash and Kasimpasha.

According to preliminary information, the bomb was exploded by an insurgent, but this information hasn’t been confirmed yet.
