The streets of Stepanakert are being designed and decorated ahead of the New Year. There are festive panels and lighting effects on several streets, and the placement and decoration of the main Christmas tree of the republic began at Renaissance Square in central Stepanakert on December 8.

In an interview with Artsakhpress, Head of the Division for Culture, Youth and Tourism of the Municipality of Stepanakert Karine Harutyunyan mentioned that Yerevan Municipality had also assisted in designing the lighting in the capital and in providing lighting effects this year.

According to K. Harutyunyan, the unveiling of the main Christmas tree is set for December 22^nd, and the major festive events will be held on December 31^st.

“Starting from the morning of December 31^st, Santa Claus and Snow Maiden will tour the streets and districts of Stepanakert in a decorated car and will wish children a Happy New Year and give them gifts. The innovation will be a New Year’s flashmob for 400 schoolchildren of Stepanakert,” Harutyunyan said, adding that a New Year’s event will be held at Renaissance Square in the evening and will end with a fireworks display.
