Minute’s silence nationwide for Paris victims

A minute’s silence was held nationwide today at 11am as a mark of respect to those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks in Paris. “Armenpress” reports about this, citing BBC.
Countries across the European Union will also fall silent to join the minute’s silence. The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attacks, for which France is now in three days of mourning.
Famous concert hall the Bataclan was targeted, as was the area near the national stadium and restaurants and bars in Parisian nightlife spots in the 10th and 11th arrondissements.
Vigils were held over the weekend in Paris, including at the Notre Dame cathedral.
EU leaders have been invited to join the one minute’s silence at the G20 summit by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk.
President Higgins will sign a book of condolence at the French Embassy in Merrion Square and the Dáil will hold a minute’s silence on Tuesday.
