Turkey’s Diyarbakir City Council names park after assassinated Armenian journalist

Diyarbakir City Council has adopted decisions regarding the names of two city parks, NEWS.am reports.

According to the City Council decision, the park, located at the crossing of Diyarbekir’s Urfa yolu andElazığ yolu streets, has been renamed after the Kurdish journalist Hafiz Akdemir, murdered in 1992, Armenian Turkish newspaper Agos reports.

And Diarbekir’s Gaziler district park was renamed after Agos newspaper former editor Hrant Dink, assassinated in 2007.
