Bishop Sahak Mashalyan interprets the symbol of the Holy Resurrection (video)

Holy Week

Holy Week reminds us of the destruction by Jesus of hell and the liberation of the just souls. As the doctrine of the Church teaches us, by being laid on a tomb, Christ goes down to hell and destroys it, granting salvation to the souls of the just. This day is a day of mourning and sadness.

The Divine Liturgy is served on the eve before Easter and ends with the tiding of the Glorious Resurrection of the Savior by which the Great Lent is complete and interpreted.

CHRIST HAS RISEN FROM THE DEAD,

BLESSED IS THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST
