Diaspora Minister receives Greece’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

On June 26, Minister of Diaspora Mkhitar Hayrapetyan received Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic Terens-Nikolaos Quick.

Congratulating Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan on assuming responsibility for the office of Minister of Diaspora, Terens-Nikolaos Quick stated that the memorandum of mutual understanding between the Ministry of Diaspora of Armenia and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Greece on Diaspora affairs provide wide opportunities for cooperation and emphasized that both Greece and Armenia have historically established friendly ties and that the cooperation between the Greek and Armenian diasporas will help further strengthen those ties.

“We fully hope that this cooperation expands through the implementation of new ideas of the youth,” Terens-Nikolaos Quick stressed.
Expressing gratitude for the visit, Minister Mkhitar Hayrapetyan stated that there is will, motivation and positive energy to continue to get to know each other and work together. The Minister also attached importance to the existence of the memorandum of mutual understanding signed between the Ministry of Diaspora and the Office of the Commissioner of the President of the Republic of Cyprus for Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cypriots and voiced hope that the diasporas of the three countries would work actively and create new bridges and common platforms.

During the meeting, Presidential Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Overseas Cypriots Fotis Fotiou joined the conversation via a phone call and stressed that the Armenians of Cyprus stand out with their active efforts and national identity. The parties expressed their willingness for close and all-embracing cooperation in the future.
