The Vatican will unveil the statue of 10^th century Armenian poet, philosopher and theologian Gregory of Narek.

The unveiling ceremony is scheduled for 5 April 2018 and will be held with the participation of Pope Francis, Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, reported The Armenian Weekly.

Primate of the U.S. Eastern Diocese, His Grace, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian and Head of the Department for Inter-Church Relations of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Archimandrite Shaheh Ananyan are at the Vatican to discuss the details of the ceremony.

Gregory of Narek is canonized by not only the Armenian Apostolic Church, but also the Roman Catholic Church.
