Australian-Armenian figure Rita Lepedjian and songwriter Ara Gevorgyan hosted at RA Ministry of Diaspora

RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan received President of the Armenian-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, community figure Rita Lepedjian and musician, songwriter Ara Gevorgyan.

The Minister cordially greeted the guests and highly appreciated Rita Lepedjian’s activities aimed at preserving the Armenian identity and the guests’ efforts for proper presentation of Armenia and Armenian culture in Australia. The Minister also attached importance to the plan to present the documentary film devoted to Armenia and its historical and cultural heritage on Australian television channels along with Australia’s leading journalists and expressed willingness to support them.

Rita Lepedjian expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and for the opportunity to participate in the 6th Armenia-Diaspora Pan-Armenian Conference. She stated that the conference was an exceptional event that was aimed at discovering the opportunities of all Armenians, working together and empowering Armenia. Lepedjian also expressed her satisfaction with the fact that the business forum of the Armenian Chambers of Commerce and Industry was organized as part of the conference.

Rita Lepedjian attached importance to the presentation and popularization of Armenian culture in Australia and stated that her Ryde Hunters Hill Symphony Orchestra performs the works of Khachaturian, Mirzoyan, Harutyunyan and Babajanyan for Australian audiences during its concerts.

Issues related to preservation of the Armenian identity in Australia were considered during the meeting.
