Recently, Tbilisi-Armenian Giorgi Tumasyan was recognized as the winner of the Youth Representative of Georgia to the United Nations Program of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of Georgia.

The young Georgian-Armenian is an alumnus of the Faculty of International Relations at the Free University of Tbilisi and is currently studying at the German University of Administrative Sciences and will be leaving for the United Nations in September. “I am very happy that I will be representing the young people of Georgia at the United Nations. The first stage of the program includes meetings with young people living in various cities and villages across Georgia and considerations over various issues. In September, I will leave for the United Nations where I will speak about the issues that are important for young people in Georgia. Upon my return, I will actively continue to work on supporting the young people of Georgia. My next visit to the United Nations will be in January,” Giorgi Tumasyan said in an interview with Hayern Aysor and added that he would also continue to work actively with various international youth organizations, local non-governmental organizations, pro-government and state organizations based in Georgia and abroad so that he can do his best to support the youth of Georgia.

The victory and success of Giorgi are not by chance. It has already been a long time since the young Georgian-Armenian is actively involved in the youth sector, as well as in UN programs and within UN organizations. He has also served as the head of several youth diplomatic organizations. “Currently, I am the head of two organizations that I have personally founded. The first is the Peace Foundation, which is involved in human rights protection in Georgia. The second is the Caucasian Academy of Diplomacy, which carries out diplomacy-related activities in the Caucasus.”

Talking about his family, Giorgi Tumasyan mentioned the following: “I am very grateful to my parents and brother who support me at every step of the way. They help me become engaged in various activities and within various organizations.”

When asked if he often visits Armenia, Giorgi said the following: “Yes, I participate in programs devoted to various sectors in Armenia, and this provides me with the opportunity to visit Armenia often. Recently, we organized meetings with Georgians and Osets in Tsaghkadzor with the purpose of supporting the relations between Georgians and Osets. I am also actively engaged in the community. It is very important for me to participate in community life.”

As far as helping the homeland is concerned, Giorgi said every young person must have a clear idea, goal and even ideal in order to make his homeland a better one and must do the best he can for the homeland.

When asked about the guarantee of his success, the young Georgian-Armenian said the following: “When you set a goal, you have to work hard to achieve it. You should never lose hope whenever you face obstacles and problems on the road. You have to try to overcome and fight for the achievement of every goal, and it will have a special meaning for you every time.”

Talking about his future plans, Giorgi Tumasyan said the following: “Today I am engaged in various sectors. I can’t say which sector my career will continue in. However, one thing is for sure-a part of my career will be linked to the Armenians of Georgia.”
