RA Ministry of Diaspora holds teleconference with representatives of AGBU Buenos Aires

On March 3, RA Minister of Diaspora Hranush Hakobyan held a teleconference with representatives of AGBU Buenos Aires at the RA Ministry of Diaspora. Among the participants from Armenia were Deputy Minister of Diaspora Vahagn Melikyan and employees of the Ministry.

Among the participants from Argentina were Chair of AGBU Buenos Aires Hampartzoum Haladjian, AGBU Central Board member Antonio Sarafian, Honorary Member Madlen Tshrian, Marie Manoogian School representative Elena Ashdjian, AGBU representative José Tabakian and dudukist and honorary member of the AGBU Gagik Gasparyan.

Greeting the participants of the teleconference, Minister Hranush Hakobyan praised AGBU Buenos Aires for immediately responding to and joining the “2017 Year of Artsakh” and “What are YOU doing for Karabakh?” movements launched by the RA Ministry of Diaspora and particularly said the following: “I am glad that you participate in pan-Armenian initiatives, preserve and transmit the spirit and culture of the nation, always support Artsakh and take part in Armenia’s advancement from a distance. I believe you will present a brilliant and exceptional program through the movement. The Ministry of Diaspora is ready to help you organize all the events and concerts that you will be holding in Yerevan and Artsakh.”

Antonio Sarafian talked about the extensive and substantial program that AGBU Buenos Aires will be carrying out through the “What are YOU doing for Karabakh?” pan-Armenian movement. He stated that the Armenian community of Argentina was excited and would be carrying out several social, cultural, political and advocacy initiatives. AGBU Buenos Aires and Argentine journalists having visited Artsakh are planning on organizing the concerts of Argentine musicians and dudukist Gagik Gasparyan in Buenos Aires, Rosario, Posadas, Mar de Plata, Rio Galagos, Mendoza and other cities. There will also be concerts in Brazil, Italy, France, Australia and North America. The program will conclude with the joint concerts featuring performances by Gagik Gasparyan, the State Orchestra of National Instruments of Armenia and the State Dance Ensemble of Armenia in Yerevan and Artsakh.

There will also be an exhibit of paintings devoted to Artsakh in Yerevan. All proceeds from the entire program of events will be used to purchase musical instruments for schools in Artsakh.

The participants of the teleconference discussed issues on helping the Armenian community of Argentina show more active participation in the programs of the Ministry and making the cooperation with the Ministry more effective.
