Los Angeles-Armenians celebrated 20th anniversary of enthronement of Catholicos Aram I of the Great House of Cilicia

On October 1, the Glendale High School Auditorium hosted a grand ceremony celebrating the 20th anniversary of enthronement of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia.
As reported the press divan of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the event featured the showing of a video devoted to the20th anniversary of enthronement of the Catholicos prepared by the Audio-Visual Unit of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia. Afterwards, Fr. Archbishop Yeprem Tabagian presented the activities that the Supreme Patriarch has carried out over the past 20 years and recapped them with the following points: (a) flourishing of the Catholicosate of Cilicia, (b) Catholicos the Builder, (c) International Relations, (d) Armenian Question, (e) Armenia and (f) Armenian Nation.
Davit Melkonyan presented the activities of the Supreme Patriarch in English, and His Eminence, Fr. Archbishop Mushegh Mardirosian congratulated the Supreme Patriarch on the 20th anniversary of his enthronement.
The Supreme Patriarch expressed his deep gratitude for the event and the speeches and reminded that this 20th anniversary was beyond the values of the nation and the Church for which he serves. “A clergyman is a means, not an end. A clergyman becomes an asset with his self-sacrifice, dedication and service. The activities of a clergyman help glorify the Armenian nation and Church, not the individual. We refuse to worship the ego since the ego can’t be above values,” the Supreme Patriarch said.
The event ended with a Patriarchal Blessing to the sounds of the song “I Veh Bardzants” and “Kilikia” (Cilicia).
