All-Armenian Scout Camp held in Bulgaria

The All-Armenian Scout Camp was held in Bulgaria from August 1 to 7. The scout camp was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the reopening of Homenetmen Bulgaria Chapter and the Independence of Artsakh.
The camping event gathered 95 scouts between the ages of 8 and 18 and 15 families of scouts from Varna, Plovdiv, Sofia, Schuman, Ruse and Burgas. The eldest scouts were 85-year-old Brother Ohan from Varna and Brother Vardan from Sofia.
“The camping event included games and competitions. The scouts from Varna were more active, while the scouts of Plovdiv stood out with their knowledge of Armenian. There were also lectures devoted to patriotism and the preservation of the Armenian identity. The attendees were also provided with information about the four-day war that took place in Artsakh in April. Four young Diaspora Armenians having participated in the “Ari Tun” Program of the RA Ministry of Diaspora shared their impressions of Armenia and said they had returned with great excitement,” Cultural Affairs Advisor of the Honorary Consul of Armenia in Plovdiv Aghavni Gevorgyan said in an interview with Hayern Aysor.
During the camping event, the scouts had meetings with RA Ambassador to Bulgaria Armen Sargsyan, Honorary Consul of Armenia in Plovdiv Yeghiazar Uzunyan and pastor of St. Gevorg Armenian Church of Plovdiv, Hrach Muradyan.
The camping event ended with a festival of arts during which the scouts recited, sang songs and performed dances. The scouts of Plovdiv stood out with recitation, while the scouts of Varna and Sofia stood out with their performances of dances and acting, respectively.
The scout camp ended with a performance of Brother Ohan’s song “What We Taste During the Camping Days” around a bonfire.
