His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia has begun his pontifical visit to Latakia.
The Supreme Patriarch conveyed his pontifical blessing to the crowds gathered at St. Mary Armenian Church of Latakia and at Ararat Hall adjunct to the Church and stated the following: “One hundred years ago, the Armenians were killed and massacred in Turkey, but found fraternal love and co-existed in solidarity in Syria. The Armenian community of Syria is connected to Syria. It has to stay, survive and prosper.”
The governor of Latakia welcomed the Supreme Patriarch and stressed the fact that the Armenians are defending Syria on the frontline positions and that many have been killed.
