Pope Francis receives world’s smallest portrait as a gift in Armenia

During his visit to Armenia, Pope Francis received the world’s smallest portrait as a gift, the author of which is Eduard TerGhazaryan junior, the grandson of the microsculpture founder Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan. He was present when Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II gave the gift to Pope Francis.

“My three-months of work finally was given to the addressee. And today, Catholicos of All Armenians His Holiness Karekin II gave Pope Francis the world’s smallest portrait. Karekin II introduced me and the art of microsculpture to Pope Francis. Seeing his own portrait under the microscope, Pope Francis whole-heartedly laughed and expressed gratitude. Director of the Vatican Press Service Federico Lombardi has already given an interview to the journalists about this event”, “Armenpress” reports, Eduard Ter-Ghazaryan said.
