Artsakh’s flag can be waved at Eurovision Song Contest

The European Broadcasting Union has issued a statement on its Facebook page, according to which a change has been made in the flags policy of Eurovision Song Contest, as reported Tert.am.

The statement reads that after constructive discussions with several participating delegations, the contest’s organizers have agreed to mitigate the strictness of the policy on regional, local and national flags.

The European Broadcasting Union has also suggested showing tolerance to other flags since the audience respects the apolitical nature of the song contest.

Earlier, there was information that, according to this year’s flags policy of the Eurovision Song Contest, the flag of Artsakh was in the list of prohibited flags. Later, the European Broadcasting Union apologized to all those who had been offended by the publication of the list of flags that can be waved during Eurovision Song Contest. The statement read that the draft of the document on the flags had been published, but it was not subject to release.
