Argentina to host 12th Armenian Medical World Congress

Argentina’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia Gonzalo Urriolabeitia is certain that the conduct of the 12th Armenian Medical World Congress in Argentina will be important for bilateral relations. This is what the Ambassador stated during a reception hosted by the Embassy of Argentina in Armenia and FIDEK Armenia Foundation.
“We are very pleased with the fact that such a congress is being organized in Argentina. It will be great for the development of Armenian-Argentine relations. Armenia is a particle of Argentina because of the local Armenian community. It is a great pride for the embassy to be able to help make the event a success,” Gonzalo Urriolabeitia stated, adding that the congress is scheduled for May 2017, according to “Armenpress”.
According to RA Minister of Health Armen Muradyan, the congress not only serves as an opportunity for exchange of experiences and mutual recognition, but is also aimed at recapping the successes that both countries have achieved and indicate the problems. “We now have to determine the issues that need to be discussed during the congress in 2019. We have decided that the all-Armenian congress will be held in Yerevan. What is very important is the fact that some of the medical congresses will be held in Stepanakert,” RA Minister of Health Armen Muradyan emphasized in his speech.
Director of FIDEC Armenia Foundation Narine Hayrapetyan informed that different countries are selected for the organizing of the congress once every four years. “The congress has usually been organized in the U.S. for the past few years, but this time we also want to engage healthcare professionals from Latin America,” he added.
In 2017, the Armenian Medical World Congress will be held in Buenos Aires for the first time. The congress will be organized and moderated by President of FIDEC Armenia, FIDEC USA and FUNCEI, co-founder of the Society of Infectionists of Argentina and the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Dr. Daniel Stamboulian.
